Upcoming Features in Big Screens For 2012

Movie fans saw the rise of heroes in Hollywood films last 2011. Comic book icons and characters were breathed into life by movie labels. Harry Potter and the Twilight Saga also raked in billions of dollars at the box office. This year sees another superhero track on the silver screen as more films about epic battles between the good and the evil will flood the theater. Horror, action and comedy films will also rule Hollywood in 2012.

Take a look at the most anticipated masterpieces for this year.

  • The Raven- This film is a fictionalized account of Edgar Allan Poe’s remaining days in life.
  • Brave- Princess Merida, the lead character, is determined to make her own path by defying a custom which would bring chaos to their kingdom.
  • Prometheus- A team of explorers must fight a battle to save the human race’s future.
  • Men in Black III- To prevent an alien from assassinating Agent K and to change history, Agent J travels back in the 1960’s.
  • The Hunger Games- The Capitol collects a girl and a boy from the twelve districts to fight against each other to death.
  • The Avengers- From Marvel universe, The Avengers will feature Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk and Black Widow.
  • The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey- Bilbo Baggins talked about a treasure hunt by Gandalf the Grey, the great wizard.
  • The Dark Knight Rises- This will have a completely different story line from the comic book. The Dark Knight Rises is said to be the final installment of the Batman movie franchise.
  • Snow White and the Hunstman- Scheduled to be released in mid-summer, this film contains many twists on the famous fairy tale.
  • The Dictator- Sacha Baron will be playing the lead character in this movie. The Dictator is about a character which is seemingly based on Saddam Hussein and Gaddafi.
  • Jack the Giant Killer- Loosely based on Jack and the Beanstalk, the lead character gets the magic relic and a war breaks between giants and man.
  • World War Z- Brad Pitt will bring the novel of the same title to the silver screen.
  • The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part II- This will take off where the last movie ended. Fans will be able to watch the conclusion of Edward and Bella’s love story.
  • The Expendables 2- This movie will feature more action stars than the first one.
  • Underworld Awaking- The fourth installment of the series featuring Lycans, vampires and humans. Kate Beckinsale stars in this film.
